Very proud to announce that Anchor has successfully helped our institute introduce the official statement of commitment on Gender and Sexual Diversity, making BITS Pilani one of the first Indian universities to do so. Check it out below.

BITS Pilani - Statement of Commitment on Gender and Sexual Diversity
Volunteering form: 2021 batch

Anchor is the pan-campus Gender and Sexuality Cell and an LGBTQ+ community organisation established in 2012, by and for the students of BITS Pilani. It is the first of its kind, BITSians only group for Queer, Questioning & Supporting members and is led by the students from various campuses of BITS Pilani. Here at Anchor, we work towards fostering a safe and inclusive environment for queer students as well as educating the student body on a wide spectrum of LGBTQ+ topics. Ours is an attempt to start a dialogue across the campuses about gender equality and sexual diversity. We are a safe space and an active listening platform for queer students and anyone in need. Our events include conducting awareness sessions, live interviews, webinars and contests among BITSian junta. We provide a forum for BITS students and alumni to talk about their experiences, and share their opinions, artworks or anything related to Gender or Sexuality.
